MAKE SURE YOU’VE GOT EVERYTHING YOU NEED AND THAT YOU ACE THE DAY! 

The most important thing now is to make sure the following are boxed off before expo day:

  • You know what you’re aiming to get from exhibiting – your objective and you’ve got a great offer for the day to pull in the visitors and make them get back in touch in a timely fashion
  • You’ve invited all your contacts – it’s a brilliant way to get them in front of you and develop relationships – it takes some people a multitude of times to buy into something so do invite everyone again – you can tell them your stand number now too
  • Your marketing materials are looking fabulous and you’ve some merch branded up and ready to go
  • You’ve got a cracking competition or prize draw to attract those all-important business cards/details into your bowl / notepad
  • You’ve thought about stand design, adding a wow factor, colour, height and shiny chocolates – or cakes – to attract people in

WHAT TO DO JUST BEFORE THE DAY
  • Familiarise yourself with all the set-up info, it’s all at this link here, dates, times, set up the day before, info about free teas and coffees for exhibitors etc
  • Why not bring your own portable coffee mug for your free teas and coffees so you can be even more sustainable
  • If there’s more than one of you on the stand or you have friends exhibiting why not car share? It’s fun and saves the environment at the same time
  • You’ll have received the Expo Stand Plan, why not reach out to fellow exhibitors on social media?

WHAT TO DO ON THE DAY

  • Be engaging, smile at folks, stand in front of your stand rather – don’t sit behind it staring at your phone as that’s not very engaging at all!
  • Make sure you’ve got a notebook with you, jot down notes about each person you have a conversation with, then you can use these when you recontact them
  • If you can’t help them directly, or they’ve mentioned needing a particular set of skills (Liam Neeson style) then do suggest they chat to another exhibitor, spread the love on the day
  • If you attended our Exclusive Exhibitors Networking event a month before the expo make sure to go to the folks you mets’ stands to further kindle the relationships you started building
  • Make sure you chat to as many other exhibitors as possible too, especially those who you can collaborate or work with and connect up on social or swap cards

 

Obviously, your first goal will be to talk to people who may become clients. But don’t discount folks, you don’t know who people know, and where a conversation with someone might take you. Keep an open mind, a welcoming stand and a smile on your face and the expo is your oyster!
